Man, January was a great month! Even though we had an extra paycheck, I still had grocery money left over from December(8.79 to be exact). CVS had a great 3.00 off any CVS product coupon that I used a bit. That helped with my high savings. Because we had 5 paychecks in January, and I had the left over December money, my budget for this month was 343.79. Here are my numbers:
Total items purchased: 348
Total coupons used: 207
Total before coupons and discounts: 1076.77
Total out of pocket: 301.12
Total savings: 775.65 or 72%
Total number of free items: 104
Re-usable bag credits: 1.12
Total amount received from rebates: 114.07
So, after my rebates that I got back this month, my OOP is 187.05 for the whole month. I was also 42.67 under budget, so I can move that to February, in case there is a good sale on something I want to stockpile. For a long month, this is pretty good for us. We weren't able to get any organic items this month, so I'll have to double that effort in February. Did I mention how much I love rebates?!

Great job! January was an awesome month, but I'm ready for February to be a little slower. :)
I need to use coupons more. I just don't use them enough.
Wow! That's a lot of rebates! Great job.
moms,
that was me before I started really getting into it. I was kind of using them, but not many. My mom is still that way....she uses one or two but I've been trying to convince her how great it is to really get into it. I convince her by giving her lots of my free items that I know she pays full price for lol!
superpaige,
thanks a bunch! frugalsuz turned me onto keeping track of my in-hand rebates at the end of the month and counting that towards my savings. It really helps to keep me motivated and understand how I have all this money left over in my checking account lol.
