Cooking day part IV

Mmmm...bagels. From scratch! I can't believe how easy these were to make, especially with the bread maker to mix it for me first. They aren't the best "lookers" but they taste phenomenal! I had to try one of the plain ones after they slightly cooled. It was so delicious! I used this recipe for both, omitting the raisins, cinnamon and white sugar when making the plain ones.

I also got the eggs boiled, and I'll start the home fries in about an hour. I need to rest!

Wow- they look great to me! I'll have to check out the recipe- I haven't used our bread machine in so long- maybe this will be a good reason to get me motivated to drag it out of the cabinet! I think that I vaguely remember making bagels with my mom when I was a kid- so they must be pretty easy, like you mentioned in the post!

Isn't it amazing? When I made bagels for the first time I read the part about dropping them in the water and thought for sure it would be a disaster -- but it wasn't! Hooray for bagels!
