Be a better spouse challenge- Days 4 and 5

I have to admit, because of our busy schedules, we didn't get to do this on day 4. By the time we had dinner, did homework, picked up fundraiser items from Sonny's school, and got the kids in the bed, it was time for us to crash. I guess you could say we went to bed together; we never go to bed at the same time but we sure did that night! We did make up for it on day 5 by sitting and having dessert on the couch together and catching up on one of our favorite shows. We had fun, giggled together and just relaxed. It was a great way to end the week.

Ironically, we ended up talking about this on day 3 for about 10 minutes or so. Our best mode of communication is good, old-fashioned face to face talking.  But, both of us can become a bit sensitive at times, so it's best to bring up big discussions when we are in good moods. If there is something important that I need to talk to Hubby about, I have to make the situation light-hearted; not just for him, but for me since I do still get a bit nervous bringing up certain things to him. The great thing is, once we get started with our talks, they almost always end in a good place. We've tried to talk over the phone, through e-mails or text, but something always seemed to get left out.  A great face to face conversation works well for us.

Day 5: Our best form of communicating is setting up scheduled times to talk. We learned this in our Pre Cana classes and it has worked amazingly. Tues and Fri we address any relationship issues and accomplishments and Weds we address household projects and accomplishments. Sometimes the convos last an hour, sometimes 5 minutes, and sometimes we don't need to have them.

it works so well b/c it gives us time to think about things before we mention them to the other person
